Northern Athletics Conference men's golf awards announced
VERONA, Wis. -- The Northern Athletics Conference has just released the All-Northern Athletics Conference awards for the 2006 men's golf season.

The 2006 All-Northern Athletics Conference Men's Golf Team includes the top ten golfers, based on their performances in this fall's NAC sanctioned events.

Wisconsin Lutheran College's Daniel Behm (Jackson, Wis.) was named player of the year. Behm had three top ten finishes at NAC sanctioned events this season, and tied for third at the 2006 NAC men's golf championship.

Benedictine University's R.J. Schwalbach (New Berlin, Wis.) was honored as rookie of the year. Schwalbach had two runner-up finishes at NAC sanctioned events this fall, and finished sixth at the NAC championship.

Gary Oftedahl was named Northern Athletics Conference coach of the year, leading Edgewood College to the inaugural Northern Athletics Conference men's golf championship. The Eagles were also the top conference finishers at all four NAC sanctioned events this season.
