2006 NCAA
Division III Championship

First Round, Nov. 10 @ Wheaton (Ill.)
Aurora vs. Wheaton (Ill.)

Aurora women's soccer NCAA bound
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Aurora University's women's soccer team received one of three Pool B berths to the 2006 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship, announced today by the NCAA Women's Soccer Committee.

The Pool B berths consist of independent institutions, and institutions that are members of conferences that do not meet the requirements for automatic qualification to the 60 team championship.

Aurora University (17-3-2) will travel to Wheaton College (Illinois) on Friday, November 10 to take on the host Thunder, ranked No. 8 in the more recent D3Kicks.com Top 25 poll. Game time is scheduled for 5:00pm.

The Spartans enter the opening round of the NCAA Championship on a nine-game win streak and are unbeaten in 15 of their last 16 contests. The lone blemish came at the hands of Wheaton (18-2) on October 6 in a 5-0 shutout. AU captured the Northern Athletics Conference championship with an 11-0 record in conference contests, and also won the 2006 NAC tournament.

The AU/Wheaton winner will take on the winner of No. 19 Macalester College (12-2-5) and DePauw University (12-4) on Saturday at Wheaton College.

Aurora will make its fourth NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship appearance in the last six seasons.
