University Chicago head soccer coach tenders resignation “Coaching two programs has led to a growing amount of personal stress, and I feel that this is the right decision for me at this time,” said Moore. “Trying to develop two young programs, as opposed to coming in and taking over more established programs, has been harder than I anticipated, and it was difficult to head into this current off-season feeling positive about things after both teams had enjoyed some success the previous year. I would rather take a step back at this time and re-evaluate things rather than go forward and risk losing my love for coaching.” Moore coached the Cougar soccer teams for the past two seasons, serving as just the second head coach for both in their six-year history as NCAA Division III programs. His first season of 2005 yielded a Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference title for the Cougar men and a 10-win season and numerous individual and team records for the Cougar women. Moore was named the NIIC Men’s Coach of the Year that season, and he coached the conference’s Newcomers of the Year in the men’s team Nick Kowalski and the women’s team Kari Zielke. Concordia provided Moore his first head coaching positions after he had served the previous three years as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Greenville College. “I am thankful to the administration at Concordia for giving me the opportunity that I had here. Coaching at Concordia has been rewarding in many ways, especially in developing relationships with the players and staff, and I wish the teams and everyone else there the best in the future.” .
