Carwell honored by D3Hoops.com
LISLE, Ill. -- Benedictine University men's basketball standout Jacob Carwell (Timothy Christian H.S.) was named to the D3Hoops.com national "Team of the Week" for his efforts in leading his team to a pair of victories during the period of January 29-February 4, 2007.

On the week, Carwell averaged 18.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game in wins at Rockford College and at home over Concordia University Wisconsin. Carwell led all scorers with 22 points at Rockford, while booking a double-double of 15 points and 13 boards against Concordia.

Among his baskets at Rockford was a three-pointer as time expired in the first overtime segment that averted the loss and instead opened the door for his team to get the win in the second OT segment.

Carwell also averaged 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocks per game. He shot 67-percent from the floor, hitting 12-of-18 attempts on the week.
