Concordia Wisconsin, Aurora receive first round byes in 2007 NAC Women's Basketball Tournament
VERONA, Wis. -- The 2006-07 Northern Athletics Conference women's basketball standings have been made final as of the completion of this afternoon's games. The top six teams have been revealed and earned spots in the 2007 conference tournament.

Concordia University Wisconsin (21-3, 18-1 NAC) clinched the conference championship last week. The Falcons earned the top seed in the tournament and one of two first round byes. The Falcons are currently riding a 17-game win streak into the postseason.

Aurora University claimed the #2 seed in the tournament, winning the tie-breaker over #3 Benedictine University. AU (17-8, 14-5) won the teams' only meeting this season, topping the Eagles 78-57 on January 27.

Benedictine (18-7, 14-5) will face #6 Lakeland College in a first round game on Monday. The game will take place at 7:00pm at Benedictine. The Muskies (15-10, 12-7) earned the last spot in the tournament by defeating Marian College 57-50 this afternoon, finishing one game ahead of Marian in the standings. The Benedictine/Lakeland winner will travel to Aurora for a semifinal game this Thursday at 7:00pm.

In the other first round game, #4 Edgewood College will host #5 Wisconsin Lutheran College on Monday night at 7:00pm. Edgewood (14-11, 13-6) earned the higher seed over WLC (15-10, 13-6) since the Eagles won the only meeting between the two this season, 64-59, on January 27. The winner of this first round game will travel to play at top-seeded Concordia University Wisconsin on Thursday in a semifinal game at 7:00pm.

The Northern Athletics Conference women's basketball tournament final is scheduled for a 2:00pm tip-off on Saturday, February 24. The highest remaining seed will host the title game.
