Dominican University to use Schaumburg Flyers’ Alexian Field
RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- The Dominican University Department of Athletics and Recreation entered into an agreement with the Schaumburg Flyers, a minor league baseball team that plays in the Northern League, to use Alexian Field, home of the Flyers, for three dates and six home games during the 2007 season.

The Stars will play three Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) doubleheaders at the modern minor league facility located in Chicago’s northwest suburbs. The Stars will host Edgewood College on Saturday, March 31, for a 12:00 p.m. doubleheader. Dominican will then return to Alexian Field on Wednesday, April 4 for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader with Benedictine University. Then after three a pair of conference doubleheaders on the road and single non-conference game on April 13, the Stars will host Maranatha Baptist Bible College for a 12:00 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday, April 14 for the final scheduled contests at Alexian Field.

“We are really excited to give not only our players but visiting players the most collegiate experience possible,” said Stars’ head coach Terry Casey. “Alexian Field blends traditional baseball charm with modern-day baseball amenities.”

The remainder of the Stars’ home contests will be played at Veterans Memorial Park, the team’s home facility located in nearby Maywood Park.
