Rockford lands two players on
national list Gomez, a junior southpaw and physical education major, compiled a 1.93 ERA and a perfect 8-0 record in 14 appearances. Gomez’s 123 strikeouts rank first in NCAA DIII in 2007. The reigning NAC Player of the Year held opponents to a conference best .174 batting average while he also topped the NAC in ERA, strike outs and wins. Gomez currently holds school records for single season wins, strikeouts, strikeouts in a game and innings pitched. Gomez’s selection gives Rockford College their first ever 1st Team All-American honor in school history. Rowe, a physical education major, hit a stellar .400 on the year. The right fielder’s .750 slugging percentage, 16 doubles and 11 homers ranks him first in the NAC. Rowe’s hitting efforts also ranked him in the top 10 in walks, total bases, RBI’s, batting average, hits and runs. Rowe is the current school record holder for career games played, at-bats, hits and RBI’s. Both players 2007 accolades helped the Regents earn their first conference title since 1991 and led the team to a school record 29 wins on the year.
