Rockford names Green men's soccer coach
ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Regents men’s soccer program has a new leader. Rockford College Athletic Director Hank Espensen recently announced the promotion of Wicky Green to the position of Head Men’s Soccer Coach. Green had spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach for the Regents’ women’s soccer team.

“Wicky brings a wealth of knowledge and contacts to our men’s program,” Espensen said after the announcement. “Rockford College has a long tradition of success in men’s soccer. We have faith that Wicky can point our program back in the right direction and make strides to reestablish our tradition of excellence.”

A native of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, Green came to Rockford College after graduating from Long Island (NY) University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Science, with a concentration in Coaching and Conditioning. While at LIU, Green acted as an intern-assistant coach for the men’s soccer team.Green brings over 35 years of soccer experience, as a player and coach, to the Regents sideline.

Green has a Class D coaching license from the United States Soccer Federation. Green currently resides in Rockford, where he is pursuing a Masters Degree in Teaching. .
