CUW women's tennis picked to repeat in NAC
VERONA, Wis. -- The Concordia University Wisconsin women's tennis team has been picked to repeat as champions of the Northern Athletics Conference in 2007 according to the preseason coaches' poll.

The Falcons finished with a perfect 9-0 record in regular season conference duals last season, and won their two non-conference duals as well before claiming the conference championship with a slim three point victory over Wisconsin Lutheran College. CUW returns 2006 NAC Player and Rookie of the Year Erin Henrich (Watertown, Wis., Luther Preparatory).

Edgewood College has been selected to finish second. The Eagles (10-6, 8-1 NAC) look to improve on their third place finish in the NAC Championship last season.

Wisconsin Lutheran College, runner-up in the 2006 NAC Championship, is picked third in the preseason poll. The Warriors finished last season with a 7-5 record overall and 6-3 in NAC duals.

The season begins this Friday, August 31. The 2007 Northern Athletics Conference Championship is will take place October 6-7 at Nielson Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin. The 2007-08 season will conclude with the NCAA Division III Championship taking place May 2-4 and 13-18 in the spring season.
