Northern
Athletics Conference Women's
Volleyball Tournament pairings set
VERONA,
Wis. -- The top eight Northern Athletics Conference women's volleyball teams
are set to begin the 2007 Northern Athletics Conference Women's
Volleyball Tournament next week. Quarterfinal matches will take
place next Tuesday, October 30 at 7:00pm.
#1 Lakeland College vs. #8 Edgewood College
The Muskies of Lakeland College (19-11, 12-0 NAC) will host
the Eagles of Edgewood College (9-17, 6-6) at Woltzen Gymnasium on
the Lakeland campus. The 2007 regular season champions defeated the
Eagles, 3-0 (30-13, 30-18, 30-26), at Lakeland on September 11.
#2 Concordia University Wisconsin vs. #7 Maranatha Baptist Bible
College
Concordia University Wisconsin (22-9, 10-2) will host
Maranatha Baptist (13-12, 6-6) at R. John Buuck Field House in
Mequon. The host Falcons won the only meeting between the two teams
this season, 3-1 (26-30, 30-26, 30-17, 30-25) two weeks ago.
#3 Benedictine University vs.
#6 Rockford College
Last year's tournament champions will host Rockford College
(11-13, 6-6) at the Rice Center in Lisle, Ill. The Regents defeated
the Eagles (23-4, 9-3), 3-2, on September 25, snapping Benedictine's
early season 12-game win streak.
#4 Concordia University
Chicago vs. #5 MSOE
Concordia University Chicago (15-11, 9-3) will host the MSOE
Raiders (10-18, 7-5) at Geiseman Gymnasium in River Forest. The
visiting Raiders defeated the Cougars, 3-0 (32-30, 30-23, 30-27), in
their recent October 16 meeting.
Semifinal matches are scheduled
for Thursday, November 1 with a 7:00pm starting time. Each semifinal
match will be hosted by the highest remaining seed. The Northern
Athletics Conference tournament final will take place on Saturday,
November 3 at a time to be determined, with the highest remaining
seed hosting.
