Northern Athletics Conference women's volleyball awards announced
VERONA
, Wis. -- The Northern Athletics Conference has just released the All-Northern Athletics Conference awards for the 2007 women's volleyball season.

Lakeland College's Brittanie Paulus (Belgium, Wis.) was named Northern Athletics Conference Player of the Year. The sophomore outside hitter, also a First Team All-NAC selection, averaged 3.0 kills and 3.7 digs per game for the conference champions Muskies (23-14, 12-0 NAC).

Concordia University Wisconsin's Erin Kiesow (Horicon, Wis.) was selected as NAC Defensive Player of the Year. The senior libero led the conference in digs per game (6.71) and is among the nation's leaders, currently 12th in Division III. Kiesow was also a Second Team All-NAC selection.

Kayla Leyden of Benedictine University was selected as the top freshman player and named NAC Rookie of the Year. The rookie outside hitter from St. Edward's High School (Elgin, Ill.) averaged 4.3 kills, 5.1 digs and 0.56 service aces per game this season. Keyden was also selected to the All-NAC First Team and the All-Rookie Team.

Lakeland's Chad Schreiber was named NAC Coach of the Year, as selected by his peers. Schreiber's Muskies went a perfect 12-0 in conference play (23-14 overall), and also won the 2007 NAC Women's Volleyball Tournament this past week.
