Dominican's Salinas ties NCAA record Salinas became just the 11th NCAA women's basketball player (all divisions) since 1982 to have a perfect night from the field with a minimum of 14 field goals made. The last player to turn in such a performance was University of Tennessee's Gwen Jackson who went 14-for-14 against University of Puerto Rico—Mayaquez on November 9, 2002. Salinas scored 19 of her game-high 31 points in the second half, going eight-for-eight from the field and three-for-three from the free throw in the game's final 20 minutes. Salinas's final bucket came at the 2:28 mark of the second half to pull the Stars to within 13 at 77-64. Salinas made two free throws with two minutes remaining but went scoreless over the game's final 120 seconds. A 5'10 sophomore, Salinas has scored 584 points in 33 career games, shooting nearly 55 percent from the field. After shooting over 50 percent as a freshman, Salinas is converting on over 70 percent of her field goal attempts this season, connecting on 72 of her 102 attempts from the field in eight games this season.
