Edgewood baseball earns mention in preseason poll
MADISON, Wis. -- Edgewood College's baseball team was the only Northern Athletics Conference program mentioned in Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's NCAA Division III Pre-season Poll. The Eagles were listed in a cluster of ten notable teams, grouped just outside the 30 ranked schools.

Edgewood College is coming off a 26-13 2007 season, in which they placed second in the NAC before bowing out of the conference tournament. The Eagles will return their entire pitching rotation and almost all of their batting order from last season as they lost just one senior from last year's team.

Three other Wisconsin schools were named in the poll, with perennial powers UW-Stevens Point seventh, Carthage College eighth and UW-Oshkosh 11th.

Edgewood College will open the 2008 season with a pair of doubleheaders at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. The Eagles will face UW-Whitewater on February 29 and Augsburg College on March 1.
