RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Concordia University Chicago baseball player Jack Walker (Naperville, IL – North H.S.) has been named a 2008 preseason honorable mention All-American by D3baseball.com. Walker is one of just 37 players nationally recognized by this organization.

Walker, a third baseman, has earned first-team all-conference honors in his first two seasons and, additionally, was named first-team all-region (Central) by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). Walker batted .397 in 44 games last season to lead the Cougars and also recorded team-leading numbers in hits (71), runs (60) and walks (34); his runs and hits set new school records. The 6’3” junior has compiled a career batting average of .358 in 87 games.

Cougar head coach Spiro Lempesis observed, “It’s nice to see Concordia baseball and Jack Walker get national recognition in this way. This is a well-deserved honor for Jack. He is an excellent player whose best days are yet to come.”
