Burch tops 1000 career points
WATERTOWN,
Wis. --
Maranatha’s senior point guard, Josh Burch was recognized on Monday
for his accomplishment of reaching a milestone of 1000 career points
as a Maranatha Crusader. On December 6, 2007, while playing
Concordia University of Mequon, WI, Burch scored his 1000th career
point!
This career milestone has lifted Josh as the #11 ALL-TIME scorer in
Maranatha men’s basketball. To date, Josh has scored 1206 points in
his career. In additional to his scoring ability, Josh either holds
the school record, or is near the top in the following categories.
#4 in free throw made with 300
#3 in free throw percentage with .847
#4 in rebounds with 336
#2 in steals with 96
#2 in minutes played with 2243
#1 in assists with 231
#1 in assist average with 2.9 assists per game
#1 in steal average with 1.2 steals per game
#1 in games started with 62
Burch was presented with a game ball, commemorating his milestone as
a member of the Maranatha Crusaders. The presentation was made
during the halftime of the men’s game against Northland. Burch led
the Crusaders to a 78-64 convincing win over the visiting Pioneers,
marking the second win over Northland in Burch’s career. The
presentation was made by Maranatha Baptist Bible College’s Athletic
Director, Mr. Rob Thompson and Maranatha’s Men’s Head Coach Rob
Cronin.
The game ball award to Burch is noted with the date, the opponent,
the milestone achieved and Josh’s statistical achievements during
the contest.
