Bravo surpasses 1,000 point plateau for career
RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Concordia University Chicago women's basketball player Ellie Bravo (Elgin, IL – Larkin H.S.) scored the 1,000th point of her career in the Saturday, February 2 home game against Edgewood College. She became the sixth player in Concordia women's history to reach this plateau, joining Amy Gibson (1,243), Atoi Sinclair (1,235), Tammie (Dunker) Driver (1,172), Laura Kohrs (1,137) and Kim Schumacher (1,071).

Bravo, a 5'7” guard, amassed point totals of 245, 259 and 263 points prior to this season. She needed just seven points entering Saturday's game, and she hit a pair of three-pointers in the first half to reach the 999 mark. Bravo's historic basket came just 1:32 into the second half as she drove into the lane from the left side and flipped an underhand shot into the net, giving the Cougars a 34-29 lead at that juncture; Concordia would go on to win the game by a 70-59 score.

Tamlyn Tills, Concordia's head coach, remarked of her senior player, "Ellie's accomplishment is evidence of what she has put into this program these past four years. She is the type of player that every coach wants and needs in her program. Ellie has been a catalyst for the team with her hard work, and she has really enjoyed playing with this year's group of players in particular. Her commitment and dedication have brought about deserved results, and I am really happy for Ellie achieving this milestone."
