Averkamp named Academic All-District Averkamp, from New Berlin, Wis., currently is the leading rebounder in the Northern Athletics Conference, grabbing 9.7 boards a game and is the second leading scorer for the Eagles, averaging 14.2 points a game. Averkamp has started in all 17 games he has played this season and currently shoots 41.5 percent from the field while dishing out a team-high 65 assists (3.8 per game). The senior excels in the classroom, achieving a 3.27 GPA while working towards a degree in business administration. The award recognizes athletic and academic excellence and is voted on by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). To be eligible for voting, student-athletes must carry a minimum 3.20 GPA and must be a significant contributor on the court, either a starter or a significant bench player. Region V consists of colleges and universities from the states of Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota and the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Manitoba.
