Scheele earns First Team All-Region honors
MADISON, Wis. -- Megan Scheele's postseason awards cabinet keeps getting a little larger each week. This week, a junior forward from New Glarus, was named First Team All-Central Region by D3Hoops.com. This is her second consecutive all-region selection by D3Hoops.com, the top online source for Division III basketball news and information. By earning first team honors, Scheele is now eligible for D3Hoops.com's All-American team.

Earlier this month, Scheele was named the Northern Athletics Conference Player of the Year and to the All-NAC first team, marking her third first team all-conference award in her three seasons. Scheele is one of 10 national finalists for the prestigious Jostens Award, and a member of the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Women's Basketball Team.

Scheele led the Eagles (17-11, 12-6 NAC) to a runner-up finish in the 2008 NAC Women's Basketball Tournament, and a fourth place tie in the conference standings. Her 21.8 points per game led the conference in scoring, and was fifth best in all of NCAA Division III.

She also averaged 11 rebounds per game, second best in the NAC, and shot 57.6 percent from the field, third best in the NAC. On the defensive end, the junior forward was third in steals with 2.54 steals per game and seventh in blocked shots averaging nearly one per contest.
