Jason Huisman resigns as Concordia Chicago assistant baseball coach
RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Jason Huisman has resigned his position as full-time assistant baseball coach at Concordia University Chicago to accept the head coaching job at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois.

Huisman's tenure at Concordia under Spiro Lempesis resulted in a three-year record of 82-49-1 that was fueled by tremendous offensive production. The Cougars hit a collective .307 from 2006-08 and averaged 8.1 runs per game in the 132-game stretch. The team's hitters set seven single-season batting records over these three years, most notably a .450 batting average by J.D. Rotzoll in 2008 that helped the senior slugger garner first-team all-region honors and All-American recognition on two different fronts.

Head coach Lempesis stated, "We are sad to see Jason go; he has been a significant part of our success these past three years. At the same time, we're happy for him and his family. This is a great opportunity at which he will do exceptionally well, and I'm sure that he will have the Trinity Christian baseball program on the map very soon."

Huisman remarked, "I enjoyed working with the many talented players here the last three years, and I will miss the day-to-day relationships with them. I'm thankful for the time working with and learning from Coach Lempesis and the opportunity to help him take the Cougar program to a higher level. There is no doubt in my mind that they will remain one of the top Division III programs in the region and continue to thrive. I wish them all the very best."
