Concordia Chicago adds former National Team member to women's soccer staff
RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- The women's soccer program at Concordia University Chicago has announced the addition of Kate Taylor to its coaching staff. Taylor will work with the team's goalkeepers.

Cougar women's head coach Marsha Panfil remarks, "We are very fortunate to have a complete person and coach like Kate Taylor joining us; she is the total package.

Her achievements in youth and collegiate soccer have already surpassed what most players can do in their entire careers. Having someone with Kate's credentials working with our goalkeepers is a great opportunity for our program, and I am very excited about what this will mean for the Cougars this year and in future years."

Taylor, a native of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, brings with her an impressive resume. She played high school soccer at University School of Milwaukee where she was named the Gatorade High School Player of the Year for the state of Wisconsin in 2001 and a Parade Magazine All-American. In addition, she was a member of the under-19 United States National team from 2000-02 and the Futbol Club of Milwaukee for which she was a part of six state championships.

Taylor played her collegiate soccer at Boston College, starting 62 of her 63 games in goal for the Eagles from 2002 to 2004. She compiled a 39-17-4 record with 21 shutouts and a goals-against average of 0.89. Among Taylor's numerous honors earned were National Soccer Coaches' Association of America second-team All-American in 2003, first-team All-Northeast Region in 2002 and 2003, and Big East Goalkeeper of the Year in 2003.

Having played soccer since the age of five, Taylor is anxious to take on this new role in working with college players. "I have coached at the club level before, and this will be an exciting new experience for me," says Taylor. "I'm happy to be involved in Division III soccer at the local level, and I am looking forward to working for Coach Panfil and with the Cougar players."

Taylor earned her bachelor's degree in communications from Boston College in 2006. She works in regional business development and sales for Sutoer Solutions, an informational technology firm in suburban Westmont.
